Liverpool to make 'improved offer for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia' after having £37m bid rejected, with the Saints 'holding out for £50m deal'

Liverpool are preparing to make a second bid for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

The Reds saw a first offer of £37m knocked back on Tuesday, but are still hopeful of landing the teenager.

They have continued negotiations with Southampton and believe a deal can be struck, according to The Athletic.

Southampton are demanding a total package of £50m, and Liverpool feel their improved bid, which will include add-ons, could be deemed acceptable.

Personal terms with the player are not expected to be an issue.
