Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah could break Robbie Fowler's Premier League record in Southampton game

Eyebrows were raised when Liverpool forked out £34 million to bring Mohamed Salah to the club.

The 'Egyptian Messi' as he is nicknamed, had an unsuccessful spell in the Premier League for Chelsea, so many thought it was another piece of bad business by Liverpool.

However, Salah has repaid the faith shown in him by his club and he now has the opportunity to write himself into Liverpool's record books.

If Salah scores against Southampton he will have scored eight goals in his first twelve Premier League matches, going level with club legend Robbie Fowler, who set the record in December 1993.
