Liverpool legend John Barnes has had his say on the club's January transfer window, insisting that they need to sign a 'stop-gap' defender and forget about Kylian Mbappe.
Jurgen Klopp's side are top of the league but have encountered plenty more bumps in the road than last season, most recently in their defeat by Southampton on Monday night.
With Virgil van Dijk out injured, Klopp has had to use the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson as makeshift centre backs, and Barnes believes that the best course of action would be to buy a stand-in defender in the winter window.
