Liverpool have '£46m bid for Romeo Lavia rejected by Southampton' with the Championship outfit 'standing firm on their £50m asking price'

Liverpool have reportedly had a third bid rejected by Southampton for midfielder Romeo Lavia as the Reds continue to chase the 19-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp's side had already been turned away twice by the Championship side but have now apparently returned with a third £46million offer.

Lavia sat on the bench for Southampton's season-opening Championship victory over Sheffield Wednesday, spiking hope that a deal with Liverpool could be close.

However, Liverpool's latest improved bid was similarly turned away by Southampton, according to Sky Sports.

Talks between the two clubs are reportedly ongoing with Southampton open to a deal but standing firm on their original asking price of £50m.
