Ryan Bertrand claims Southampton felt they were relegated after they were thrashed 9-0 at home to Leicester City last season.
The Saints were comprehensively thrashed by the Foxes in front of their own supporters at a rain-soaked St Mary's this time last year in a result that equalled the Premier League's biggest every defeat.
But a year on from the damning result, Southampton have recovered and managed to retain their Premier League status last season, with Bertrand - who was sent off early on in the embarrassing loss - claiming the players have worked very hard since then.
