'I want to be manager': Southampton's interim boss Ruben Selles insists he's READY to take over permanently at St Mary's after talks with Jesse Marsch stalled... and insists he's 'as capable as any other' candidate

Ruben Selles, Southampton's interim boss, has declared his interest in the permanent position, declaring he has been 'feeling ready to be number one for four years'.

The Spanish coach, with experience in a raft of countries, has been assistant at the Saints since June 2022, and this is his second spell as caretaker manager.

In November, he briefly stepped into the shoes of the sacked Ralph Hasenhuttl, taking charge for one game before Nathan Jones was appointed.

Now Jones has also been shifted from his role as manager, Selles is back in the hot-seat again.
