This is the moment two 'stupidly reckless' people on a moped narrowly avoided being hit by a 70mph train by inches riding through red lights at a level crossing.
Network Rail released dramatic CCTV footage of the incident near Littlehampton, West Sussex, which police said should make clear the 'dangers of misusing level crossings'.
The red lights were flashing and its barriers were down for several seconds before the moped arrived at the crossing last Tuesday.
The rider steered on to the wrong side of the road to avoid the first barrier, and passed over the tracks moments ahead of a Southern train.
