Fraser Forster has insisted that he would be ready to assume responsibilities as the No 1 goalkeeper at Tottenham if he is given the opportunity.

The 6ft 7in stopper joined Spurs on a free transfer this summer after an eight-year spell at St Mary's with Southampton, becoming a understudy for the first time in his career since establishing himself at Celtic.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the former England international revealed he decided to make the move to north London because the opportunity was 'good to turn down.
