A dispersal order has been put in place by police ahead of Southampton's home match against Millwall later.
The order lasts for 12 hours, starting at 10:00 GMT, and covers the city centre and parts of Woolston and Bitterne.
Police say it will help maintain public safety and allow officers to deal with any issues that could impact those attending the Championship game kicking off at 15:00.
It gives officers the power to order a person to leave the dispersal area within a specified time period and not return.
Those who refuse to comply will be committing a criminal offence and be liable for arrest.
