James Ward-Prowse has handed Southampton a huge boost by signing a new five-year deal.
Captain Ward-Prowse was only 12 months into a five-year deal that he signed last summer.
But, having been targeted by Aaron Villa in this window, he has reaffirmed his commitment to the club by now committing his future until 2026.
Ward-Prowse said: ‘I’m over the moon. I think I’m probably the happiest man in the world right now. To come to this decision, I think has been massive and is a big step forward.
