Cancer-stricken Falklands veteran, 73, who was sacked from the Royal Navy because he was bisexual fears he will die before he gets compensation from the Government

A cancer-stricken Royal Navy veteran unfairly sacked from the military because he was bisexual fears he will die before getting compensation from the Government.

Joe Ousalice, 73, was one of thousands of troops, who were booted from the military in a series of 'gay witch hunts', thanks to a ban on LGBT people serving in the forces.

The ban, which lasted until the year 2000, was branded an 'appalling failure' by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, with ministers promising those affected compensation.

But Falklands hero Mr Ousalice was diagnosed with prostate cancer 18 months ago, which has now spread to his chest and brain, and he now fears he won't survive long enough to receive his compensation, thought to be worth about £100,000.
