ATHENS (Oct. 25, 2015)— The USF women’s tennis team wrapped up play at the ITA Southeast Regional Sunday afternoon.
Olga Martinez, Jessica Cortes Chaves, Vera Bessonova and Ana Roman Dominguez represented the Bulls in Athens. Cortes Chaves won two qualifying draw matches to advance in to the main draw with her fellow teammates. The sophomore defeated Christina Marin of Kennesaw State, 6-4, 6-1, and Nerma Caluk of FIU, 6-3, 6-2, to advance to the main draw. Chaves would withdraw from singles play in the main draw due to injury.
Dominguez picked up a win in the round of 64, topping Mariana Ranzahuer of Georgia Southern, 6-0, 6-3.
