TAMAP (Sept. 30, 2016)—The women’s Bedford Cup kicked off Friday at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts with most of the USF women’s tennis team competing in singles and doubles.
In the first collegiate event of the year, freshman Brooke Lashway picked up her first career win, defeating Bianca Biglione, 6-4, 6-0. Also winning singles was senior Hailey Grillo, who gave up just one game to win 6-0, 6-1.
Grillo and Lashway paired up in doubles, topping their opponents 8-4, to move on to the semifinals of their flight.
Vera Bessonova and Olga Martinez won their doubles match with a dominating 8-2 victory.
