West Boca High principal hoped to keep job

Even after he was caught plagiarizing large chunks of two famous graduation speeches, Mark Stenner told Palm Beach County School District investigators he hoped to keep his job as West Boca High principal.

Stenner told them he was deeply sorry and hoped to use the incident as "a teachable moment for myself," according to the district's investigative file released on Monday.

But the report said the principal "compromised his integrity as well as the integrity of the district as a whole" by violating several local and state ethics codes. The district assigned him to its charter school office last week.
