TAMPA (Nov. 18, 2019) – University of South Florida women's basketball standout Maria Alvarez (Miami, Fla.) was named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week and Bethy Mununga (Zellik, Belgium) was named to the AAC Honor Roll when the league announced its weekly awards on Monday. It marks the second-straight week a USF player was recognized, following Enna Pehadzic (Horsens, Denmark) being tabbed The American Player of the Week on Nov. 11.
Alvarez continues her solid play for the USF, while helping to lead the Bulls to their second 2-0 week this season, and a 4-0 overall record, with victories over Howard (82-53) on Nov.
