TAMPA (Dec. 19, 2022) – University of South Florida women's basketball standout Carla Brito was recognized by the American Athletic Conference as the league's Freshman of the Week for the week ending Dec. 18. In addition, Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu was named to The American weekly honor roll.
Brito and Fankam Mendjiadeu helped the Bulls to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Marshall, 77-68, on Dec. 14 and La Salle, 75-50, on Dec. 17.
A 5-foot-11 wing from Las Palmas, Spain, Brito averaged 8.0 points on 53.
