TAMPA, Feb. 28, 2024 – The University of South Florida softball team (12-5) defeated the Stetson Hatters (6-10) twice in its Wednesday night doubleheader at the USF Softball Stadium. The Bulls won 4-0 and 7-2.
Payton Dixon (Smyrna, Del.) set a new career-high of 13 strikeouts in the first game of the doubleheader. It's the most strikeouts thrown by a South Florida pitcher since May 6, 2022, when Georgina Corrick threw 15 strikeouts at Memphis.
With the two wins, South Florida is now four wins away from reaching 1,500 wins in program history, while Ken Eriksen is five away from reaching 1,100 career wins.
