TAMPA, FLA., Aug. 4, 2025 – USF Football long snapper Garrett Cates has been named to the Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List.
Cates was among 30 players, and the only American Conference player, named to the preseason watch list for the award honoring FBS college football's most outstanding long snapper. In its seventh season, the award is named for former NFL long snapper Patrick Mannelly and shines a bright light on this essential position in football.
Cates, as senior, played in all 13 games for the Bulls last season in his first year at USF after transferring from Charleston Southern.
