USF received a transfer commitment from Jacksonville University linebacker Dakota Trice on Saturday afternoon - a valuable addition to a linebacker corps that is slowly starting to take shape.
Trice was a 2017 graduate of Brandon High School, in which he was named to the Hillsborough County All-Star Team during his senior year.
He was a menacing middle linebacker and a three-year starter at Brandon, compiling over 100 tackles in all three seasons he played. He had 130 tackles (72 solo) and two interceptions in 2015, guiding the Eagles to a 9-3 record and a second-round berth in the Class 6A, Region 2 playoffs.
