TAMPA (March 25, 2023) – The University of South Florida Bulls (9-15) bounced back from a disappointing loss on Friday night in a big way with a 9-0 victory over the VCU Rams (11-12) on Saturday afternoon at USF Baseball Stadium. Hunter Mink (Palm Harbor) and Nolan Hudi (Safety Harbor) combined on a four-hit shutout while Daniel Cantu (Jacksonville) went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer and five RBI.
After dropping the series opener on Friday, 18-3, the South Florida pitching staff posted its first shutout of the season.
Cantu put the Bulls on the board with a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the first inning and drove home a pair in the third inning with a double to the opposite field on another clutch two-out hit.
