BRNO, Czech Republic– July 21, 2025 – University of South Florida's women's basketball Head Coach Jose Fernandez and USA Basketball's Women's U19 National Team captured gold by defeating Australia, 88-76, in the final of the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's Americup on Sunday.
In the event, the 2025 USA Women's U18 National Team was led by Teri Moren (Indiana University), while Niele Ivey (University of Notre Dame) and Fernandez served as assistant coaches.
The victory marked Coach Fernandez's second straight gold medal as he assisted USA Basketball earn gold in the 2024 U18 FIBA Americup last summer.
