WICHITA, KS., May 8, 2024 –The University of South Florida softball team (34-22, 13-14 AAC) fell to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (30-22, 14-13) in the first round of the American Athletic Conference Tournament. The Bulls fell with a final score of 2-1.
Payton Dixon (Smyrna, Del.) earned her 28th start and quickly settled in. She had retired the Golden Hurricane for three straight innings. Tulsa earned its first hit in the fourth inning.
The Bulls had their first scoring opportunity in the second innings. A Golden Hurricane fielding error, single, and a sacrifice bunt put Allana Consolazio (Fort Meyers) at third.
