FORT MYERS, Fla., March 1, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team earned a midweek doubleheader sweep of the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles, winning an extra-inning thriller, 5-0, followed by a 6-3 victory in regulation.
(Sanford, Fla.) tossed a three-hit, eleven-inning gem in game one. Not only did the senior break the single-game strikeout record, tossing nineteen in the game, she threw her 38 career shutout in the process. She passed Erica Nunn's 18 K effort against Temple in 2014 for the single-game record, a mark she already tied back in 2020 with 18 against Wisconsin.
