JACKSONVILLE, Fla., MAY 26, 2021 – Sophomore pole vaulter carried over his success from the American Athletic Conference Championships to the NCAA East Regional Prelims on Wednesday, punching his ticket to his first NCAA Outdoor Championships.
A graduate of River Ridge High School in New Port Richey, Baker set a new personal record with a height of 17-2 3/4, which is also tied for the fourth-best height in school history. He surpassed his previous top mark of 16-9 ¼ set at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championships where he posted a second-place finish.
Baker finished seventh at this year's AAC Championships with a height of 16-7 ½.
