IRVING, Texas (May 17, 2021) – The University of South Florida's Roberto Peña (Caracas, Venezuela) has been named the American Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Peña hit .533 (8-for-15) over a four-game series split at Wichita State last weekend. The redshirt went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI in the series opener to kickstart his big weekend. In total, Peña recorded three doubles, two home runs and four RBI against the Shockers. He also drew a pair of walks, stole three bases and scored five runs in the series.
