Fort Myers, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2017) – Wrapping up a dominating weekend on the courts, the USF men’s tennis team swept FGCU in singles and doubles competition.
Four Bulls won in straight sets on day three of the competition. Justin Roberts took down Andres Alfonzo, 6-4, 6-2, followed up by Vadym Kalyuzhnyy’s 6-4, 6-3 win over Oliver Landert. Newcomers Pierre Luquet and Jakub Wojcik took down their respective opponents, 6-2, 6-1, and 6-1, 6-2.
Freshman Nils Heimer fought a long battle, going to two tiebreakers. Despite dropping the middle set, Heimer rebounded for a 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (4) win.
