TAMPA, July 28, 2020 – The University of South Florida men's tennis program secured many recognitions from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for academic performance during the 2019-20 year. Four student-athletes were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes, while the program as a whole was named one of the ITA's All-Academic Teams.
Sergio Gomez Montesa (Valencia, Spain), Chase Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia), Pierre Luquet (Draguignan, France), and Tobias Sonne (Buenos Aires, Argentina) were all named Scholar-Athletes by the ITA.
"Getting four of our student-athletes (named Scholar-Athletes) and ITA All-Academic Team honors is a great accomplishment," head coach Ashley Fisher said.
