IRVING, Texas (March 14, 2022) – University of South Florida freshman outfielder Jackson Mayo (St. Johns) has been named the American Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Teammate Hunter Mink (Palm Harbor) was also named to the American Weekly Honor Roll.
Mayo batted .500 (9-for-18) with a double, two home runs and four RBI over five games last week. The true freshman's offensive breakout was highlighted by a 4-for-5 effort with two homers on Friday night which helped steer the Bulls into a series win over Bradley University.
