Marijuana-laced gummy bears, pot sold at novelty store, police say

Over-the-counter sales of marijuana-laced gummy bears and ounces of pot have prompted the arrest of the owner of a Plantation novelty store, court records show.

After an informant tipped off Plantation police about illegal drug sales at the shop, an undercover detective made two separate marijuana buys at Cozy Corner Novelties, 4244 Peters Road, according to a search warrant.

The first buy on March 23 yielded 9 grams of marijuana for $40 and an electronic cigarette with THC liquid for $40. The second buy on April 2 was heftier: 32 grams of marijuana and eight THC gummy bears for $200, according to a search warrant.
