Man sought for I-95 road-rage stabbing identified; car found, state troopers say

Investigators have identified the suspect wanted in connection with a road-rage stabbing on Interstate 95 as a 42-year-old Fort Lauderdale man.

Peter P. Whyte is believed to be the driver of a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis who followed Deerfield Beach resident Nolan Goad and his girlfriend Tawny Grogin on to the interstate Monday and then fought with Goad in a tussle that was captured on cellphone videos of motorists who stopped to watch, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Acting on a tip, investigators found the car on Northwest 31st Avenue near Broward Boulevard early Wednesday, Wysocky said.
