A man was taken into custody after he killed a woman and then called authorities to report it, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
The incident happened Sunday morning at the Rashelle Hotel at 825 NW 27th Ave., southwest of Interstate 95 and Sunrise Boulevard in suburban Fort Lauderdale.
The call came into dispatchers at 6:19 a.m.
A Sheriff's Office press release said the "male suspect killed his female companion."
Homicide and crime scene detectives were investigating.
