PHILADELPHIA, OCT. 24, 2016 – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team was predicted to finish third in the American Athletic Conference, the league announced at its annual media day event Monday. It marks the second-highest preseason ranking since the inception of the conference in 2013.
UConn, the four-time defending National Champion, was the unanimous preseason favorite. Temple followed in second-place, tallying 87 points, while the Bulls collected 86 points, and the remaining first-place vote.
Sophomore forward Kitija Laksa (Riga, Latvia) was one of six players selected to the preseason all-conference first team.
