TAMPA, FEB. 8, 2016 – Freshman forward Kitija Laksa (Riga, Latvia) was tabbed the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week for the third consecutive week, the league announced Monday. Laksa is only the second student-athlete this season to receive the Freshman of the Week award three times this season.
Laksa averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game and shot 40 percent from the field and from three-point range in a 1-1 week for the Bulls.
Laksa opened the week with 11 points against Cincinnati, in her 16th multi-three-pointer outing of the season.
