The American Athletic Conference announced Monday that running back Johnny Ford and defensive back Nick Roberts were named to the weekly Honor Roll for their efforts in No. 21 USF’s 38-30 Homecoming victory over UConn.
Ford, a true freshman, rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries. Averaging 23.4 yards per carry, Ford also broke off a 78-yarder during the Bulls’ 17-point third quarter, USF’s longest non-scoring run ever.
Roberts, a redshirt freshman, registered 10 tackles and a big 61-yard interception return in the third quarter to help set up Ford’s second touchdown run on the next play to make it 31-14.
