Two months after his 18th birthday, USF true freshman quarterback Byrum Brown still seems well ahead of his years. Perhaps that's why there's no hesitation — indeed, maybe even a surplus of confidence — for Brown to have the reins Saturday night when the Bulls face the UCF Knights in the War On I-4 rivalry game at Raymond James Stadium.
"Ever since the day Byrum got here, he has prepared himself for this opportunity,'' Bulls interim head coach Daniel Da Prato said. "He's prepared to carry himself effectively into any situation.''
Even a situation such as Saturday night's clash, when the Bulls (1-10, 0-7 AAC) face the arch-rival Knights (8-3, 5-2 AAC) before a large in-house crowd and an ESPN2 national audience.
