Becomes 13th woman to earn All-America for USF track and field
TAMPA, Fla., JUNE 11, 2021 –USF track and field freshman Shaniya Benjamin (Tampa, Fla.) earned second team All-American honors in the long jump in one of three events in which she is competing at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 9-12.
The 2021 American Athletic Conference champion in the long jump and 4X400 relay, Benjamin posted a leap of 20-10 at the NCAA Championships to finish 10th and just a half inch from finishing in the top eight and earning first team honors.
