PROVIDENCE, R.I., Nov. 19, 2018–USF women's basketball player Laura Ferreira was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week in the league's second weekly women's basketball honors of the 2018-19 season, for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 18.
Ferreira exploded offensively with a 34-point night to help USF (4-0) take down Oklahoma 87-70 in what was a highly competitive matchup until the fourth quarter. In Ferreira's career best performance she set new career highs in points, field goals made, field goals attempted, three-pointers made and three-pointers attempted, she sank eight from beyond the arc on Sunday afternoon at the Yuengling Center, which ranks fourth all-time at USF.
