HONOLULU, Hawaii (December 25, 2021) – Playing in the fifth-place game at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, the University of Wyoming (11-2) pulled away from the University of South Florida (5-7) in the second half, 77-57.
Jamir Chaplin (Norcross, Ga.), Javon Greene (McDonough, Ga.) and Caleb Murphy (Youngstown, Ohio) scored 14 points apiece for USF in the setback.
The Bulls and Cowboys went into halftime deadlocked at 33-33 as both sides shot 46 percent in the opening half.
The Cowboys continued their hot shooting over the final 20 minutes, knocking down 52 percent of their shots from the field and better than 50 percent from beyond the arc (8-15).
