Courtney Williams climbing the charts

LOREN ELLIOTT | Times

Senior All-America candidate Courtney Williams' surge up USF's career scoring charts now has reached thin-air altitudes.

Williams, who scored 31 in Wednesday night's 71-67 victory at Tulane, now has 1,874 career points, good enough for sole possession of third place on the Bulls' career list. With a minimum 15 games remaining, she needs only 68 to overtake Shantia Grace for No. 2.

Overtaking Jessica Dickson (2,402) for No. 1 is another story, though the difficulty level has slipped a bit, from impossible to impractical.

If 18th-ranked USF (11-4, 4-1 American Athletic Conference) was to play the minimum 15 remaining games on its slate, Williams would have to average 35.
