A deciding factor in USF's jump would be USF's team win over Oklahoma, who had qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the last 19 straight seasons. The Bulls outlasted Oklahoma 87-70, but the final score was the product of a 19-3 run in the fourth quarter, as USF and Oklahoma were tied 50-50 midway through the third quarter.
