The Bulls (2-6 overall) made steady improvements throughout their second match of the Ameritas Players Challenge in Lincoln, Neb., outplaying the Huskers (6-1) throughout most of the third set despite a 13-25, 21-25, 25-27 loss in extra points.
After hitting just .081 in the first set as a team, USF’s coaching staff switched up its matchups with success in the second. The Bulls, with help from four Priscilla Ehieze (Houston, Texas) kills, hit .306 as a team in the second, committing just one hitting error to keep pace with Nebraska in a four-point loss.
USF made more adjustments in the third, and led in the third set until the Huskers managed to tie things up at 19.
