TAMPA (June 16, 2016)--Peter Bertran and Justin Roberts both won main draw matches in professional tour events with Bertran’s win advancing him to the quarterfinals of the ITF Futures Event in Cartagena, Columbia.
Bertran posted a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 victory over Columbia’s Jose Bendeck for his second three-set win in consecutive days. On Tuesday, Bertran outlasted Columbia’s Michael Quintero 5-7, 6-4, 6-0 to earn his first career ATP point.
Roberts, playing in the $10,000 Futures Tour event in Buffalo, defeated Argentina’s Juan Manuel Matute 6-3, 6-4. The rising junior had to win three matches in qualifying in order to gain entry into the main draw.
