While recruiting Broward high school students for the U.S. Army, a 30-year-old staff sergeant sent flirtatious text messages to underage girls, gave them rides and engaged in car-sex trysts with them, according to a complaint unsealed in a Fort Lauderdale federal courtroom Friday.
Jose Nieves, Jr. 30, of Sunrise, is accused of sexual misconduct with two 17-year-old girls while working out of a U.S. Army office at 9793 W. Broward Blvd. in Plantation. He is also accused of sharing nude photos of one of the victims with yet another 17-year-old girl.
According to a criminal complaint, Nieves met one of the girls in January and the other in March.
