South Carolina now has an opening at offensive coordinator. Filling it will take some money, and fortunately, exactly how well the Gamecocks pay just became public.
USA Today released its annual database of assistant coach salaries for 2017. The top of USC’s staff remains competitive, including the offensive coordinator spot Kurt Roper was just removed from.
Roper and Gamecocks defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson were both in the top 40. Robinson’s $750,000 was tied for 36th nationally, while Roper’s $700,000 was tied for 39th (they were 18th and 19th in the SEC).
The Gamecocks total staff ranked 17th in the country and 10th in the SEC.
