South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp expects Kurt Roper to be the Gamecocks offensive coordinator for the Outback Bowl.
“Sure,” Muschamp said Sunday night when asked to update the status of his top offensive assistant. “He’s our offensive coordinator. I don’t get into ‘sources said’ and all that stuff.”
Roper’s name has been linked to the head coaching job at Rice, his alma mater, but Roper is expected to call the plays for South Carolina on Jan. 1 against Michigan, Muschamp said.
“That’s the plan,” Muschamp said.
