South Carolina has added two non-conference football opponents to its future schedules and one of them will bring a familiar face back to Williams-Brice Stadium.
The Gamecocks will play Troy in home on Sept. 25, 2021 and then former assistant coach Shawn Elliott’s Georgia State Panthers in Williams-Brice Stadium on Sept. 3, 2022, according to FBSchedules.com. Troy will receive $1.4 million for the game, and Georgia State will get $1.45 million, according to the website.
South Carolina is 3-0 all-time against the Trojans, with wins in 2004, 2005 and 2010. Troy was 11-2 and tied for the Sun Belt Championship last year.
