South Carolina’s football team had to rely on a lot of freshmen during the 2018 season. On Thursday, two of them were recognized for their contribution by the SEC.
Offensive lineman Dylan Wonnum and defensive back Jaycee Horn were both placed on the conference’s All-Freshmen team, which is voted on by the league’s 14 coaches.
Wonnum, the brother of junior defensive end D.J. Wonnum, took over the starting right tackle job midway through the season.
Horn was a starter from the beginning of the season and is seventh on the team in tackles with 39 and first in pass breakups with eight.
