Turns out, Alshon Jeffery had to tough it out in a big way on Super Bowl run | The State

Wide receivers get a bad rap as not being quite as tough as their teammates who play closer to the ball.

Former South Carolina football star Alshon Jeffery certainly bucked that trend.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport tweeted Jeffery had shoulder surgery Wednesday for a torn rotator cuff. When did he suffer that injury, the kind that can end seasons?

In training camp, before he posted 789 yards, nine touchdowns and led the Philadelphia Eagles to their first Super Bowl win against New England and Tom Brady.
