This new South Carolina basketball team might be for real after dominant season opener

South Carolina basketball opened the season with a statement, dropping 14 threes and dishing out 23 assists in a 91-72 win over NC A&T. Meechie Johnson led the charge as Lamont Paris’ reloaded roster showed early signs this team might be for real.

South Carolina's season tipped off in electric fashion at Colonial Life Arena on Tuesday night as the Gamecock men's basketball stormed past North Carolina A&T, 91-72, behind a flurry of threes and unselfish play that had Lamont Paris smiling from the sidelines.
