Boyd’s path to Columbia is a little winding. After heading to College of the Desert in 2013, he would then transfer to Chaffey College in his hometown of Rancho Cucamonga. He was then offered by Arizona, Georgia State, New Mexico State, Texas State, Utah and Washington State before deciding on the Gamecocks in January of last year.
College Career
Boyd redshirted with the Gamecocks last fall. He put up a strong stat line at Chaffey - 80 tackles, 10 passes defended, and two picks.
